Creative Producing.
Between 2017 and 2022, Lexi worked as an independent theatre producer across the United Kingdom and Aotearoa New Zealand. She is now focused on writing and dramaturgy work, and is only taking on associate and assistant producer roles for new musicals and development workshops.
As an independent producer, Lexi is passionate about championing the voices of emerging artists, and contributing to the theatrical landscape in a way that expands the dominant image of gender and sexuality.
In 2017, she launched Maiden Speech, a dynamic and exciting theatre festival that provided a much-needed platform to showcase the boldest new work from a new generation of theatre-makers. In November 2019, Maiden Speech concluded its third and most ambitious season yet at Seven Dials Playhouse in Covent Garden. The festival supported more than l00 early-career artists across its three year tenure, and provided a significant launchpad for new work.

Maiden Speech (2017-2019)
Maiden Speech was a dynamic and exciting theatre festival that provided a much-needed platform to showcase the boldest new work from a new generation of theatremakers. From solo shows and gig theatre to spoken word and drag cabaret, Maiden Speech offered fresh perspectives on identity, gender, and sexuality through a myriad of stories and styles.
The inaugural season of Maiden Speech in 2017 staged nine shows by emerging women artists and was predominantly focused on challenging the dominant image of gender on stage. Successive seasons expanded the remit to programme new work that provided fresh perspectives on identities, including (but not limited to) gender, race and sexuality.
GROOVE (2022)
In 2022, Lexi produced GROOVE on behalf of Outbox. Featuring a cast of intergenerational queer artists, GROOVE was a devised show exploring the dance floor as a place of protest, identity, belonging and desire.
A co-production between Outbox and Shoreditch Town Hall, the show ran at Oxford House in London before touring to Contact in Manchester. GROOVE was nominated for three Off-West End awards, including a nomination for Access.

Shooting Pains (2023-2024)
A darkly funny coming-of-age story, Shooting Pains is a new play by Alice Fitzgerald (Best Director nominee at the 2022 Stage Debut Awards) and is based on her lived experience of scoliosis and chronic pain.
Across R&D workshops in 2023 and 2024, Alice worked with actors and creatives to explore and refine the play, working to create an empowered and authentic portrayal of spinal difference and challenging existing ableist representations.
